Q1 1948 India Black Vac. This pen has been restored which means the diaphragm has been replaced, the gold hardware has been cleaned to bring back its’ original luster, and the entire pen has been polished. Meticulous care has been taken to make sure the blind cap is properly aligned with the barrel to create a smooth, seamless transition. The first line of the imprint under the clutch ring is barely readable but the second line and date code are very easy to read. The clutch ring has 3 small spots where pitting has occured. The clip is in good condition with some brassing along the edge between the arrowhead and feathers. The cap is in very good condition with no dents or dings and only small surface scratches. The XF/F nib writes nicely unlike many of the finer nib points that tend to be scratchy and unpleasant. Q4 1947 Dove Gray Vac Demi. Please refer to this post for size comparisons of the vac demi to the aerometric demi and full size vac. The barrel imprint is slightly worn, “Parker 51″ is nearly impossible to read. “Made in USA” is barely readable with the naked eye but the date code is strong and easy to see. The hardware is in excellent condition, both the clutch ring and clip have no corrosion or defects in the plating. The cap has minor surface scratches with an overall good finish and free from dents or dings. The nib is incredibly smooth and considered a generous fine point. $90 SOLD

Q1 1948 Cedar Blue Vac. I have a hard time getting this lovely color to show well in photographs. It usually comes out looking black but I can assure you it is blue. The barrel imprint is very good and easy to read with only the first line “Parker 51″ starting to fade slightly. The clutch ring and clip are in excellent condition with no corrosion or defects in the plating. The cap has “Made in U.S.A.” stamped on the lip opposite of “Parker” and is free from dings or dents. Q2 1945 Cedar Blue Vac. Another beautiful blue vac this time with gold trim. The gold clip has some slight brassing on the sides near the arrowhead but is perfect up around the jewel and has a hint of blue left in the diamond. The matching gold wash clutch ring is does show some wear but is still visible. The barrel imprint is deep, crisp, and very easy to read. The fine nib is smooth with good consistent flow. The cap is in excellent condition with a great finish and free from any dents or dings. $110 SOLD

Q1 1946 Cedar Blue Vac. The barrel does have one small defect which should be shown in the picture. It in no way compramises the usuability of the pen, it was just to deep for the polishing to remove. The barrel imprint is very good and easy to see. The clutch ring has seen better days. There a few spots of pitting and the gold wash is gone. The clip is in very good condition with only slight brassing along the edges near the arrowhead. The 1/8 14k gold filled cap has 7 small dings, 3 of which are quite hard to see. Otherwise the cap is in good condition with no brassing whatsoever. Navy Gray full size aerometric filler. The clutch ring is in very good condition but the clip does have some corrosion. The cap still has a great finish with only light surface scratches and no dings or dents. The nib is a nice, smooth medium that flows slightly more wet than dry. $70 SOLD

This Parker 51 set is in excellent condition. Recently restored by Richard Binder, it now writes and operates like the day is was manufactured. The pen has an outstanding polishing job and the blind cap is seamlessly matched to the barrel. The cap does have small micro scratches but also has nearly all the frosting intact. For sale is a black Parker “51″ Special. The only problem with this pen is the small ding next to the bottom of the clip and a bit of corrosion along the edges of the clip. The barrel and hood have been polished to an almost wet-like-shine. The nib writes smooth and lays down a wet-ish medium line. This Parker “51″ Special has had a rough life and has the scars to prove it. But even with two dings in the cap, one on each side of the clip, and a crack in the barrel, it still manages to live life writing as smooth as any “51″ I’ve ever written with. Q1 1947 Gray Parker VS. Has a fine, wet nib that writes buttery smooth. A nice, deep, two line imprint that reads ‘Parker “VS” Made in USA’ with a date code of ‘7′ with 3 dots under it. The button filler operates smoothly and fills with no problems. The cap is in great condition, no dings or dents, just small surface scratches from daily use. Q1 1942 Gray Parker 51 Vacumatic filler. This lovely pen has the imprint all in one line instead of the more commonly seen two line imprints. The imprint is crisp and clear, very easy to read with the naked eye. The blind cap is slightly discolored from the rest of the pen. The cap is in very good condition. It has no dents but a few very tiny dings and scratches that are hard to see. The clip is in very good condition with no brassing or tarnishing, just a few scratches around the top of the clip.$70

Q2 1947 Cedar Blue Parker 51 Vacumatic filler. This gorgeous pen has nice, deep, two line imprint that is easily readable with a date code of “.T.7″ signifying it was probably make in the Toronto, Canada plant. The blind cap matches the body perfectly for both color and fit. The Jewelers Band cap is flawless with an excellent clip with just a tiny bit of blue missing from the diamond. There’s absolutely no dents, dings, or scratches on this cap anywhere. A beautiful example of what a 51 should be. $145 SOLD

Q3 1946 Black Parker 51 Vacumatic filler. This pen has a deep, crisp, two line imprint with a date code of “6.” The imprint on the barrel reads “OFELIA RECUERDO DECIMO ANIVERSARIO BODAS” which roughly means “REMEMBERING THE OFELIA TENTH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY”. The cap is 1/10th 16k gold filled with 1 small dent and 3 tiny dings. The clip is in good condition with slight brassing along the sides of the clip. When I received the pen the nib was missing the tipping so it has been ground into a broad stub. It writes smooth with great line variation, there’s just no tipping material. $55 SOLD

Q3 1942 Cordovan Brown Parker 51 Vacumatic filler. The two line imprint on this pen is faint to missing in some spots but still has a clear date code of “2.” The cap is 1/10th 16k gold filled with groupings of four lines and space. There are 5-6 small dings around the cap that are noticeable. The clip has a perfectly filled blue diamond with only slight brassing on the sides of the clip. $70

Q3 1944 Azure Pearl Vacumatic. The polishing really brings the lovely blue color out in this pen. The barrel imprint is deep and very easy to read with a date code of “4.” The cap band is mint, no brassing or tarnishing. The clip has slight brassing on the sides and some tarnishing around the top. The blue diamond is fully filled and looks great. The gold nib writes smooth fine line and feels great with the cap posted. The barrel clarity has ambered but you can still see through it. A lovely pen that will surely bring a smile to your face. $70 SOLD

Black Parker 51 Vacumatic filler. No date code. If you look closely on the barrel you can see a diamond imprint. This could have possibly been a converted desk pen. It doesn’t look or feel any different than the other 51’s I have. The fine nib is neither wet nor dry. The cap is great condition, no dings or dents. The clip is very good having only slight brassing on the top around the amber colored jewel on the back side. $90
