The Vanishing Point was first introduced by Pilot in 1963. In 1964 they created their first push-button Vanishing Point, which you see here. This version was offered in stainless steel, gold, and chrome trim with round, black, plastic bodies. The chrome plating on this pen is in very good condition. There is a small crack near where the clip enters the hood. It in no way affects the functionality of the pen and is very easy to overlook. The nib is a 14k gold XF that is surprisingly smooth. Unfortunately, current production nib units will not fit this model. This pen is slightly longer than current Vanishing Points but slightly narrower and lighter. One advantage this vintage model has over current ones is that the clip enters the hood at a different spot which makes it less likey to get in the way. This would make a great addition as a daily user or just to complete your collection of Vanishing Points. $275 $175 $125 SOLD
