You don’t see this nib all that often. This beautiful Sunburst 8440 is part of Esterbrook’s Re-New-Point line of swapable nibs. This is a superfine cartography nib used for mapmaking. In an article by Don Fluckinger posted on Richard Binder’s website, his view of the 8440 is as follows:
