This one is for the Vacumatic lover in all of us, and if you haven’t discovered yours yet this pen will help you with that. It was purchased from Dr. David Isaacson, who runs Vacumania, and was sent to Richard Binder for final adjustments. This particular Vac is the Standard size, which is 126mm in length. It is a first generation style, despite being made in 1937, the year starting off the second generation style. The main differences being the triple cap band, the lock down filler, and both jewels being made from the same celluloid as the rest of the pen. The hardware is flawless. There isn’t a spot of tarnish or brassing anywhere. The filler operates smoothly and fills quickly. The blind cap matches the body almost perfectly. You can just feel the slightest mis-match in one little spot if you use your finger nail. The barrel clarity is very good, despite my poor pictures lack of representation. You can clearly see the plunger move up and down while filling and you can see the ink level throughout the entire length of the barrel. The nib writes smooth and lays down a slightly wet medium line. The beautiful two tone nib isn’t missing any of the plating on the arrow and looks fabulous. $385 SOLD
