I received this pen from my good friend over at Mon Bon Voyage (another great pen blog, check it out!). I don’t know anything about it. The only markings on it is “Alibi” stamped on the cap under the clip. There are no markings on the nib, barrel (inside and out), or anywhere else. The nib is steel and when I first got it the tines where touching each other which really hampered the flow. I opened them up and now it flows great and writes very smooth.
I had an extra converter lying around so I thought I’d see if it would fit. Sure enough it did, but just barely as you can see in the next picture.
The pen is constructed entirely out of metal, which makes it pretty heavy and combined with its shaped turns it into a near perfect killer projectile. It’s almost as heavy as my Levenger Plumpster, which is great as I prefer heavier pens. The only thing I would change to improve this pen is to move the rubber o-rings from the barrel to the section to provide more grip on the metal surface, a great suggestion from the author of Brassing Adds Character.

I have one of these that I bought from Levenger a long time ago. I don't know that it is the exact same one, but it looks like it. Here is a picture on Flickr. Nr
Thanks for the post. I really like the pen on the right in that picture. What is that?
That is another pen that I got from Levenger. Sorry, I don't have any names. It is a very fine point and I love the way that it writes. Nr
Can someone please advise as to where I can purchase ink cartridges to fit Alibi fountain pens? Are these expensive? Recently bought one at a car boot sale. Already love it although I cant find a cartridge that fits. Please help!!
The standard international ink cartridges should work. These are the most universal ink cartridges available. My advice would be to purchase a converter instead so you can use ink from a bottle.
Use Waterman ink cartridges in the Alibi fountain pen. I had broken my waterman, and had extra cartridges. Tried it in the Alibi and it works great!
Thanks! I will recommend this to all my friends.
Ah.. I have a similar chromed version but for roller ball.. may need to be re-cromed due to many years of use. still one of my fav pieces due to the weight
This pen is a copy of a pen branded 'Wecle Japan'. It was produced second half of the 80s and available in 6 finishes : chrome, gold, crackled, metal blue. Next to the fountain pen the was also a fountain pencil and a ballpoint pen. In Europe the fountain pen could be purchased at that time for about €80. The original did not have a visible, black plastic pen holder.
Great looking pen! I want one! =)
I’ll give ya a good price on this one…
