I received this watch as a gift and I absolutely love it! This is my first automatic watch and I’ve worn it every day since it was given to me, which is strange because I never used to wear one. It is a bit large but not heavy. The black Fossil in one the pictures below is actually much heavier, in most part due to the steel wrist band. The band on the Akribos is a rubber/silicone material that is very comfortable. It doesn’t stick to the skin or pull the hairs on my arm. My only problem is that I’m having a hard time finding any information about this watch online, so if anyone can point to a website or message board please do so in the comments.

Congrats on the watch! Fountain pens and mechanical watches often seem to be a good match-up. A display back lets you marvel at all the tiny bits working as a unit. It’s the demonstrator pen of the watch world!
The movement is a Chinese made model HZ2189G skeleton. Here’s a link to a place that sells them:

The Chinese manufacture these for less than the Swiss like so much else. I’m sure it will give you good service and it’s definitely a looker. If it ever breaks the benefit is that you can buy another movement and have it fitted instead of a long costly repair. Now that your foot is in the door, so to speak, you might find yourself ogling more watches in the future. There are a lot of watch boards out there but timezone.com is a very good one. Thanks for the post and the great pictures!
I know what you mean about the match-up between fountain pens and watches, they’re all over the place at FPN.
Haha, I never thought of it like that. I like that.
Thanks for the link and info on the watch. I don’t know how much I’ll get into watches as that would take away from what fountain pens I can buy
